When a woman who claims to have been raped asks...
Whaaaat?? I agree with the cheatsheet, it really bothers me that there’s no real evidence to back up this claim. cheatsheet: That’s taken as a sign of possible deception. “I am betting nine out of 10 times, when a woman asks for a female detective the story is going to be untrue,” says Lamboy. The operative theory is that women who are lying think female cops will be more receptive to...

The Ross Sea Party Story
This is the story of how an ordinary, albeit quite good-looking and of above-average intelligence and wit, group of friends went out for a quiet night with a few beers and live music and ended up bringing home the band. Because of the long weekend, much of the campus community has fled Eugene for Sasquatch, home, and wherever else got them out of this cloud-covered town for a few precious days...

Study: Social media users really are nice people →
Booyah!!  today: “When they look up from posting to their blogs or browsing the Internet, the social media savvy are more likely than the un-savvy to share their stuff, help someone with directions, or give up a seat on the bus.”

Free Will Astrology
I re-found this horoscope today! Forgot that I ripped this out of a Eugene Weekly a couple weeks ago when I was having a particularly good week—it pushed good mood to f-yeah-I’m-kind-of-awesome mood. Kinda what I need today! Taurus You’re an animal! And I mean that in the best senses of the word. Your vitality is heading toward peak levels, and your body is as smart as it gets....

Oh my god, I don't want to be a grown up anymore
Soooo I may be having a “who am I and where is my life going” meltdown… I’ve been trying to figure out what I’m going to do next year (as in, after my internship is over, and I’m a full-fledged adult with a college degree and thousands of dollars of debt), and it’s pretty much caused me nothing but panic. In order to help myself caaaalm down a little, I...

Conceited? DGAF
My friends are telling me I’m cuter than her… And I know they’re my friends, so they kind of have to say nice things. But not only do I believe them…. I don’t feel bad about it! If that makes me conceited, whatever. I’ll take my victories where I can find ‘em. And I’m feeling good about myself these days.

WatchWatch
I have way too much stuff for a tiny house, but I’m fascinated by them! What I like best about this one is the space-saving staircase… Unfortunately I don’t think I’d want to come home from the bars to have to climb them. Plus my tall friends might be a little cramped… only a 6.5 foot ceiling!

NPR First Listen--Danger Mouse and Daniele Luppi,... →
“Naturally, Rome can’t possibly exceed the sum of its parts, with its successful composer and arranger in Luppi, its groundbreaking producer and composer in Danger Mouse, countless combined years of orchestra experience, a painstaking recording process with vintage equipment, and the juxtaposition of White’s fatalistic moan with Jones’ coolly detached croon. It almost has...
